A new chapter for an iconic waterfront location

Set right on the water at Terrigal Haven, Amarilla brings new life to one of the Central Coast’s most iconic dining locations.

From the team behind Yellowtail, Amarilla carries forward the same commitment to quality produce, creativity and warm hospitality, reimagined through a more relaxed, share-style dining experience inspired by the flavours and culture of Spain.

Lead by owner Scott Price and head chef Alastair Burke, the menu draws from the Iberian Peninsula while embracing the laidback rhythm of coastal dining.

Just beyond the main Terrigal strip, Amarilla feels tucked away from the crowds while still sitting moments from town - with waterfront views, waves beneath the venue and parking right outside the door.

VIERA | roasted scallops with potato foam, pancetta and espelette. Two per serve, and you'll wish you'd ordered more.

PULPO GILDA | charcoal-grilled octopus skewers with eschalot, salsa verde and olive. Bold, clean, Basque in spirit.

AJO COCA (pro tip: add the Cantabrian Anchovies on the side) | roasted garlic and manchego on Spanish pizza bread, finished with anchovies on the side. One of those combinations that sounds simple and tastes anything but.

BRAVAS | crispy potatoes with spicy sauce and buttermilk. The benchmark dish of any Spanish restaurant, and ours holds up.

CARRILLERAS | slow-braised beef cheek with Jerusalem artichoke. The kind of dish that makes the table go quiet.

CERDO | Berkshire pork neck with Catalan greens, pine nuts and Pedro Ximénez membrillo. A proper main that earns its place on a share table.

PESCADO DEL DÍA | the market fish of the day, cooked to what the kitchen thinks suits it best. Ask your server what's on — it changes with what's fresh.

Dining at Terrigal Haven, Central Coast NSW

A destination worth lingering over.

Amarilla sits at 2a The Haven, Terrigal - right on the water's edge at Terrigal Haven, approximately 90 minutes north of Sydney and 45 minutes south of Newcastle.

The venue is positioned at the quieter southern end of Terrigal Haven, away from the main beach esplanade, with direct views across the harbour mouth and out to the Pacific Ocean. Guests dining on the deck can hear the water below. At sunset, the light across the Haven is something else entirely.

It’s part restaurant, part escape.

With uninterrupted ocean views, the sound of the water below the venue and a menu designed to unfold slowly over drinks and shared plates, Amarilla has quickly become a dining destination for locals, Sydney weekenders and visitors travelling the NSW coast.

When asked where to eat in Terrigal, locals will tell you Amarilla is the Central Coast waterfront restaurant with food that may even surpass the outlook.

Inside, the space is warm and relaxed - coastal timber, chill yet lively atmosphere, the sounds of a room enjoying itself. It's not fine dining in the formal sense; it's better than that. Long tables, shared plates arriving as they're ready, glasses being refilled without asking.

Parking is directly outside the venue. The venue is fully accessible via ramp. A short walk from the main Terrigal strip - close enough to be convenient, far enough to feel like you've found somewhere special.

  • When you make your booking, you can request a table close to the water in the booking notes. We will accommodate wherever possible on a first come first serve priority booking basis.

  • Yes, there is a large free car park at The Haven, including several parking spaces right outside the restaurant door.

  • Yes, Amarilla entry is by ramp, making it an accessible restaurant. When you arrive please notify staff who will assist with an additional curb ramp for ease of entry. We also have accessible amenities within the venue.

  • Yes. Amarilla offers a wide range of gluten free dishes across the menu. Guests with dietary requirements are encouraged to advise the restaurant when booking and notify their server while dining.

  • On Sundays from 4pm we have our “Sangria Sessions” where we have live music, tapas for snacks, and sunset sips till 7pm. Our full menu is on offer, however we also have a special half price offer on Sangria Jugs at only $20 for a 1L jug of red Sangria!

    On Tuesdays, we offer 2-for-1 cocktails on a rotating menu alongside our Tapas Tuesday menu - $45pp for four tapas plates that change every week.
